The LG C-series has been the default OLED recommendation for years, and the C3 continues that tradition. With the brighter Evo panel, improved processing via the ฮฑ9 Gen6 AI processor, and sizes ranging from 42 to 83 inches, the C3 is positioned as the OLED for everyone. We tested the 65-inch model for three months across movies, gaming, and sports.

Picture Quality

The C3's OLED Evo panel hits approximately 820 nits peak brightness in HDR โ€” a modest improvement over the C2 but noticeably behind the Samsung S90C (1,050 nits). However, the C3 fights back with better shadow detail and near-black gradation handling. Dark scenes in shows like House of the Dragon reveal details that the Samsung crushes into black.

Color accuracy out of the box in Filmmaker Mode is exceptional โ€” Delta E under 2.0, meaning colors are accurate without calibration. Dolby Vision support covers Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, and 4K Blu-rays โ€” content looks spectacular with deep blacks and vibrant highlights.

Gaming

Four HDMI 2.1 ports (48Gbps each), 4K/120Hz, VRR, G-Sync, FreeSync Premium, ALLM โ€” the C3 is a gaming beast. Input lag at 4K/120Hz is just 5.2ms. The Game Optimizer menu provides quick access to genre-specific picture settings, dark stabilizer for competitive shooters, and frame rate counter. For PC and console gamers alike, this TV is near-perfect.

webOS Smart Platform

webOS 23 is smooth, responsive, and well-organized. All major streaming apps load quickly. The Magic Remote with point-and-click control and voice commands is genuinely useful โ€” typing search terms by pointing at an on-screen keyboard beats arrow-key navigation. The always-on content store is less intrusive than Samsung's Tizen but still present.

Sound

The 40W 2.2-channel speakers with AI Sound Pro create a wider soundstage than the C2. Dialogue is clear and the virtual surround effect is convincing for built-in TV speakers. Still, pairing with a soundbar is recommended for a cinematic experience โ€” the TV deserves it.

โœ… Pros

  • Perfect blacks with excellent shadow detail
  • Dolby Vision + Dolby Atmos support
  • Four full HDMI 2.1 ports for gaming
  • Excellent color accuracy out of the box
  • Wide range of sizes (42" to 83")
  • webOS is smooth and intuitive
  • Magic Remote is genuinely useful

โŒ Cons

  • Samsung S90C is brighter for the same price
  • Not bright enough for very sunny rooms
  • Risk of burn-in with static content (though improved)
  • No ATSC 3.0 tuner
  • Stand is wide and requires large surface

Our Verdict

The LG C3 is the safest, most well-rounded OLED recommendation for 2026. The Samsung S90C offers more brightness and color volume, but the C3 fights back with superior shadow detail, Dolby Vision support, and LG's proven reliability. If you watch a lot of dark content (horror, sci-fi, prestige dramas) or want the most gaming-friendly TV, the C3 is your best bet.

Buy the C3 if: You value Dolby Vision, prefer webOS, or want sizes from 42-83". Buy the Samsung S90C if: You want maximum brightness and color volume. Buy the Sony A80L if: You prioritize motion processing and upscaling for cable/sports content.
